Abraham Zavala Batlle was born in Lima on March 28, 1960. He studied medicine at the Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal. His internship was completed at the Clínica Anglo Americana, the Maternidad de Lima, and the Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño. He specialized in pulmonology at the Instituto Nacional Edgardo Rebagliati Martins of ESSALUD. He holds a Master's degree in Medicine from the Universidad Cayetano Heredia and a Doctorate in Medicine from the Universidad de San Martín de Porres. He is a full member of the Peruvian Society of Pulmonology and a full member of the American Thoracic Society. His father was the recognized, prestigious, and remembered pulmonologist, Dr. Abraham Zavala Stanbury, a pioneer of Aero-sol Therapy in Peru and an Honorary Member of the Peruvian Society of Pulmonology. Dr. Abraham Zavala Batlle was a visiting professor at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and has been a Professor of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Dentistry of the Universidad de San Martín de Porres. He is the author of numerous publications in national and foreign journals. He has also presented at national and international conferences and congresses. In 1988, he was president of the Committee for Physiotherapy and Respiratory Rehabilitation of the Peruvian Society of Pulmonology, and in 2006, he was president of the National Asthma Committee. He has also served as a pulmonology consultant for the Superintendence of AFPs and a pulmonology expert for the Colegio Médico del Perú. He also worked as a pulmonologist at Clínica Javier Prado for over 26 years. In 2008, he published the book «El Protomedicato en el Perú,» and in 2013, he published the book «Dios, la ciencia y la Razón.» He currently sees patients in his private practice and exceptionally via video calls for patients throughout Peru.
